The 2011 Corvallis Fall Festival Poster Art, "The Ride Home", is created by local artist Jennifer Lommers. Trained at the University of Washington School of Fine Art, Jennifer received her BFA in 1992 and Art Education Certification at Western Washington University shortly thereafter. She has since followed an eclectic path on her artistic journey living throughout the Pacific Northwest including Seattle, Bellingham, the Skagit Valley, and recently settling in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon. Being an outdoor enthusiast, her paintings are typically created from abstracted images of nature. Preferring to paint from memory, she layers thin and thick applications of acrylic paint, focusing on the variety of texture and color of the piece in combination with the natural forms of the composition. Trained by abstract expressionists, she paints quickly preferring acrylic paints and using a gestural style giving her paintings a whimsical, fun and vibrant energy. Jennifer’s award...
